What started as a premium sushi concept catering to sold-out stadiums in California has now found its own home in the heart of Brentwood. Having established itself as a household name among fans that frequented well-known stadiums, like the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, a brick-and-mortar is a no-brainer for LA Sushi Co.

Their Brentwood flagship offers takeout, delivery, and a casual yet elevated dine-in experience to those who are craving their signature sashimi, nigiri, and sushi rolls. In addition to their delectable sushi dishes, they have a mini corner that offers a selection of Japanese goods, such as snacks, condiments, and beers. And to cap off the day, their Japanese soft serve ice cream is just an order away.

To create a dining, takeout, and delivery experience like no other, LA Sushi Co opted for eco-friendly food packaging and partnered with noissue for their own branded suite. Read our chat with the LA Sushi Co team and learn more about their story, packaging essentials, and everyday inspiration!

Tell us a bit about your brand!

Founded by co-owners Darren Romanelli and Nate Hahn alongside renowned local sushi chef Taka Hirano in 2019, and later joined by strategic partner Ben White Levin, LA Sushi Co has successfully built itself a strong reputation in the LA market over the past 5 years.

First kicking off with several consumer-facing market tests held in Downtown Los Angeles, LA Sushi Co now proudly serves as the official sushi vendor of SoFi Stadium, BMO Stadium and Angel Stadium, and continues to cater private events across Southern California.

LA Sushi Co’s mission is to source the highest quality fish, served and crafted by the most skilled chefs in a casual welcoming environment. Our dedication to traditional methods while embracing technology allows us to serve sushi at a greater pace and also preserve quality and freshness.

Tell us about your packaging, how you’re using it, and the importance of it for your brand.

Packaging for us is an integral part of the experience. We don't plate food in a traditional sense as we are generally a to-go restaurant so our packaging is our plating. Food is a very visual experience that goes hand in hand with the taste.

We love how the ice cream is contrasted against our bright blue cups and repurposing the bakery bags for our condiments has made it an easy way for us to know our customers are getting everything they need with each order. Lastly, the branded napkins provide just that little extra touch in every serving.

What made noissue a good fit for your packaging?

noissue was a good fit because of the depth of products offered, the quality, and of course, the price. We were also able to do some shorter runs to see how products worked for our consumers before placing larger orders.
